Life Is 02:44
Saw the best minds of my generation Stumbling back home, coming down the avenue they don't even stop at the venue Cuz this is what life is, it's stuck on the front porch watching somebody chain smoke cigarettes Marlboro Reds off in the corner well maybe they know--but right now How's it going? How's that song coming along? How's your friends doing? They don't come around too much right now Yeah they don't come around right now, nah Cuz this is what life is it's stuck on the front porch watching somebody chain smoke cigarettes Marlboro Reds off in the corner well maybe they know that maybe I'm not scared to die I know that I'm petrified To try and fail

Swear it's just like honey How cigarettes always taste sweeter on your tongue Blow your brains they're always talking 'bout your lungs How cigarette bands only listened to one song But hey good set man That drummer's not half bad And I'm reeling round the fountain when you call I'm feeling down again And I'm reeling round the fountain when you call Guess I'm feeling down again. Guess I'm spinning out again Swear it's just like honey How cigarettes always taste sweeter on my tongue Blow my brains, they always talking bout some guns And cigarette bands never listened to one song But hey good set man That drummer's not half bad And I'm reeling round the fountain when you call I'm feeling down again And I'm reeling round the fountain when you call Guess I'm feeling down again. Yes, I'm spinning out again And there goes good ol' Charlie Brown She's always feeling down Whenever he's around now And there goes Ol' Charlie Brown I guess she's spinning out I guess that he's around now And there goes Charlie Brown again I guess she's spinning out again

Anywhere 03:47
Waited and watched you go Frank Sinatra on the radio Singing a song I used to know Coming through that old car stereo Begged you not to go you kept saying that you gotta know answers to some things I'll never know so I guess I'll just leave you alone But I'll I'll take you anywhere that you would like to go And I I'll take you anywhere that makes you feel at home And I, I'll take you anywhere that you would like to go And I-- Cried the whole way home your song playing on that radio I pretended that I didn't know what was coming through that stereo now It didn't feel like home So I called you on the telephone Voice message left you're never home So I guess I'll just leave you alone now But I I'll take you anywhere that you would like to go And I I'll take you anywhere that makes you wanna glow And I I'll take you anywhere that you would like to go Cuz I know That better days came and went All my money has been spent On cheap booze and cigarettes And I I'll take you anywhere that you would like to go And I I'll take you anywhere that makes you feel like home And I I'll cheer for anyone who makes you feel like home Yeah I'll take you anywhere

about

"Almost Country For Old Men, Electro Country For They/Them" is second in a series of EPs that documents direct life experiences childhood and the last three years. The songs pick up where the last EP left off, but also go in another new direction sonically.

The six songs on the EP shift from the inward, cathartic songwriting that made up most of the first EP and balances a more outward-looking approach with the confessional nature that was a mainstay of "The Shape Of Things To Come". "Almost Country For..." moves toward a Dilla-inspired Indie Rock sound.

"Almost Country For Old Men, Electro Country For They/Them" was recorded in the two month period a semester from hell which included getting rear-ended by a tow truck and watched too many romantic comedies while recovering :)
